In several religions, such as in Christian, Judaism and Islam belief, angels are beings who were created by God before man, and typically act as messengers from God.
They are frequently depicted as creatures with wings. This symbolic is used to explain their swiftness to act. However in early centuries angels did not have wings. The first angel with wings appeared in the 4th century.
