Chakras
Chakras are centres of energy from which white light, the source of all life, is diffused in the body. The white light, made up of the 7 colours (purple, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red) helps maintain harmony within us.
Chakras play a paramount role in this balance by diffusing part of this light to the organs they govern. If these Chakras are closed or damaged, the body becomes sick because energy circulates unevenly, partially, or not at all.
Lithotherapy uses the natural energy of the stones which, when applied to a sick body or the corresponding Chakra, helps to renew harmony between the body and these energies.
1st CHAKRA - MULADHARA - (Base Chakra).
Position: Between the anus and the genitals. This is the Chakra of the union between spirit and matter. Primordial polarity (positive/negative) is housed in this Chakra. It wakes the fire within us, the consciousness which affirms itself to be "I" (individuality). We are here in the Earth element. It corresponds to the sense of touch. Colors: Red or black. Odors: Cedar and Clove. – red, or brown red stones: Red agate, silicified wood, coral, cornaline, crocoïte, garnet pyropes and almandites, rhodolites and hessonite, heliotrope, hematite, red jasper, eye of iron, sun stone, ruby, rutile, red spinel, Hyacinthe zircon. – Dark brown to black stones: Morion, obsidian, black onyx, smoked quartz, black tourmaline, black tektites.
2nd CHAKRA - SVADHISTANA - (Sex Chakra). Position: 1 lumbar era of the spinal column, two fingers breadths under the navel. It is the sacred Chakra, a force center inhabited by the dimension of sexual love. This Chakra also holds influence over the spleen. The vibrations of this organ express themselves in the ethereal body. We are here in the water element which corresponds to the sense of taste. It is like a front door for vital forces to enter the body. This Chakra leads us to reflect on the relation with others, the relations within a couple and the physical attraction which results from this. Colors: Orange. Odors: Ylang Ylang, Sandal, Myrrh. – Reddish orange, and brownish orange stones : Orange red agate, brown amber, andalusite, calcite orange, citrine ambrée, brownish crocoïte, orange garnets, red or orange jasper, opal of fire, hones sun, sphalerite, orange spinel, imperial topaz.
3rd CHAKRA - MANIPURA - (Solar Plexus Chakra). Position: Two fingers above the navel. This Chakra returns us to the conscience of the astral world, which is divided into two parts: - Astral inferior: orange yellow: Passion, the strong emotions, desires, selfishness and anger. Here we are in the fire / sight element. - Astral superior: gilded yellow: Brotherly love, sensuality. Here we are in the air / smell element. Color: Yellow. Odors: Lavender, Rosemary, Bergamot. - yellow and greenish yellow stones: Yellow agate, amber, ametrine, andalusite, brasilianite, calcite yellow, chrysoberyl, citrine, danburite, garnet-red andradite, héliodore, hiddenite, hypersthene, cats eye, tiger eye, orthoclase, peridot, yellow phenacite, pyrite, glowing quartz, yellow sapphire, scapolite, serpentine, sphalerite, sphene, imperial topaz, vesuvianite.
4th CHAKRA - ANAHATA - (Heart Chakra). Position: Located between the shoulder blades, slightly to the left of the backbone (sternum). The heart Chakra symbolizes concrete or inferior mental states. It is the path of love. This is where the male principle (or intellect) and the female principle (or intuition and divine energy) are united. Color: Green and pink. Odors: Rose oil. - Pink stones: Pink coral, pink cornaline, pink danburite, pink diamond, kunzite, manganite, morganite, pink opal, pink phenacite, pink pearl, pink quartz, rhodochrosite, rhodonite, pink tourmaline, pink scapolite, pink topaz. - green Stones: Amazonite, aventurine, green beryl, chrysocolla, chrysoprase, diopside, dioptase, green emerald, epidote, euclase, green fluorite, tsavorite and démantoïde garnet, green héliodore, imperial jade, jadeite, jade nephritis, malachite, moldavite, peridot, serpentine, green tourmaline, tourmaline watermelon, zoïzite. - Gilded stones: Jade magnetite, marcassite, pyrite, quartz glow, gold.
5th CHAKRA - VISHUDDHA - (Throat Chakra). Position: Located at the base of the throat between the jugular force and the larynx. It is associated with the causal plane or the mentally superior world. Only sound can penetrate the ethereal, this is why this center is the transmitter and receiver of sound. It is the expression of the Love, already awoken by the fourth Chakra. It allows materialization of the Verb and gives form to the mantras. Color: Blue. Odors: Sage, Eucalyptus. – Pale blue stones: aquamarine, kyanite, blue cordierite, danburite, blue diamond, blue euclase, blue fluorite, hemimorphite, labradorite, blue topaz, light blue sapphire, tourmaline indicolite. - Green blue stones: Aquamarine, amazonite, apatite, chrysocolla, bluish dioptase, bluish emerald, euclase, blue green fluorite, hemimorphite, eye of falcon, black opal with blue green dominants, turquoise. – Silvery stones: Marcassite, galena, native silver.
6 th CHAKRA - AJNA - (Frontal Chakra or 3rd Eye) Position: A finger above the base of the nose, in the meddle of the forehead. Or the Third Eye. It is correlated with the Buddhist plane : love in wisdom, the extrasensory world. The 3rd eye conveys rational and intuitive thought, and extrasensory perception. Colors: Indigo. Odors: Mint, Jasmine. - purplish blue stones: Blue apatite, azurite, dumortierite, labradorite, lapis lazuli, lazurite, black opal, blue sapphire, sodalite, blue spinel, tanzanite, blue tourmaline (indigolite), zircon starlite. – Violette stones: Amethyst, charoïte, purple coral, violet fluorite, white or black opal with violets irisations, purple spinel, tanzanite, purple zircon. - yellow Stones: Clear yellow amber, citrine, clear yellow chrysoberyl, yellow danburite, yellow diamond, yellow fluorite, eye of tiger, orthoclase, yellow sapphire, straw yellow scapolite, yellow sphalerite, sphene, imperial topaz. violet and yellow amétrine.
7th CHAKRA - SAHASRARA - (Crown Chakra). Position: at the top of cranium. It is the door to the sky. It corresponds to the atomic world, the spirit of which is divine. Symbolized by : the father, the will to act, universality, the invisible world and the ultraviolet ray door. It is where alchemical marriage takes place, the union of the two polarities within consciousness. Here is where the final union between God and his shakti is carried out, between Shiva the father and Kundalini the mother. It is through this force center that the body can be left behind to go subtly and freely through the worlds (astral voyages). Colors: Purple, white, gold. Odors: Principle of the pure essence. - Violets stones: Amethyst, charoïte, spinel purple, tanzanite. - White stones: Diamond, rock crystal, gemmeous gypsum, white opal, pearl, phenacite, moon stone, television stone. – Golden stones: Gold nugget, crystallized gold.
